ABI and PPG
Doppler Testing
Summit Doppler
Systems is a leading manufacturer of ultrasound Doppler systems used to detect
fetal heartbeat and to monitor peripheral arterial and venous blood flow. The
people behind Summit have been developing vascular Dopplers for over three
decades and are proud to offer the most advanced Doppler systems available
today. We are committed in making Summit Doppler Systems your primary source for
ultrasound Dopplers and vascular diagnostic systems. Besides the standard ABI
Vascular Doppler, Summit last year received FDA clearance for the VISTA AVS.
Why perform
ABI with VISTA?
+ Seated ABI –
For the first time ever, the ankle brachial index (ABI) exam can be performed
while the patient is sitting. This clinically proven method makes it possible to
easily assess patients with mobility impairments.
+ Segmental
Software – Now, it is faster and easier to perform segmental studies. Clinicians
can customize the exam by selecting the number and location of arterial sites.
+ PPG
Pressures – Obtaining pressures for the supine ABI, toe brachial index (TBI) and
segmental exams can be performed using the arterial photoplethysmography (PPG)
probe in addition to the bi-directional Doppler probe.
Together with
ECG, Spirometry and Breath Hydrogen Testing, testing elderly patients for
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is paramount.
